We Help With Adoption, Paternity And More

Steven H. Snyder & Associates handles family matters related to assisted reproduction and adoption throughout Minnesota. Our qualified family lawyer is skilled at handling all aspects of family formation. We are known statewide, nationally, and internationally for our work with surrogacy, egg donation, sperm donation, embryo donation/adoption, and adoption proceedings.

We assist clients in all areas of family law, including:

  • Surrogacy: Surrogacy allows intended parents to have a child genetically related to one or both of them and have another woman gestate the pregnancy for them. When one or both of the parents are not genetically related to a child because of egg , sperm, or embryo donation, our firm arranges for and conducts the necessary legal proceedings for the unrelated parent to be recognized as the legal parent of the child, if necessary.
  • Ovum (egg) donation: Egg donation is used either when a woman is unable to use her ova to establish a pregnancy, in which case she may carry the pregnancy herself or use a surrogate to carry the pregnancy if necessary, or when the intended parent is a same sex male couple or single intended father.
  • Embryo donation/adoption: When it is not physically or economically possible for intended parents to create their own embryos, our attorneys assist with the legal donation of other parents’ embryos to the intended parents for their own use.
  • Adoption: We assist people in all of the ways that individuals and couples can become parents through adoption. Whether you want to adopt through an agency or directly from a birth mother, whether domestic or international, we can assist you with the legal aspects of building your family through adoption.

We support our clients by effectively representing their legal interests and making sure they receive the emotional support they need during a sometimes difficult and emotional time. We always try to find the most effective, efficient, and cost-conscious legal procedure for each client. The issues within family law related to assisted reproduction can be complex. Our goal is to make the legal part as easy as possible.
