Doing this can make the experience more manageable for everyone involved. So, how can you create such a relationship?

At the beginning of the process, you and the gestational carrier can agree on how often to contact each other. You should also choose your preferred communication mode and how they can reach out to you in an emergency.

It can also be beneficial to determine the details that should be conveyed. You don’t want to overwhelm the carrier by making them believe they need to communicate everything that happens daily. However, you also don’t want to miss out on crucial details regarding the pregnancy.

Show support

Your gestational carrier should know that you support them. Thus, don’t shy away from expressing gratitude and showing empathy. You should also be present during appointments. Whenever you can’t make it to a doctor’s appointment, call afterward to stay informed about their well-being. If you live nearby, you can help them with household chores, such as grocery shopping, cleaning, cooking and running errands.

Talk about their life outside the pregnancy

It’s important to have a genuine interest in the gestational carrier’s life outside the pregnancy. Although you obtained sufficient information about them to determined that they are the right fit, you need to keep learning more about them.
