Want an Egg Donation Program in Minneapolis?

Speak With a Minneapolis Surrogacy Attorney

When considering egg donation, an experienced Minneapolis and St. Paul surrogacy lawyer at Steven H. Snyder & Associates has over 20 years experience providing legal and administrative services for egg donors, embryo donors and surrogacy.

Costs

The cost of using an agency such as the International Assisted Reproduction Center (IARC) in combination with an experienced attorney may seem overwhelming at first. However, intended parents and the egg donor need advocates throughout the child-birthing process. Hiring a qualified Minneapolis surrogacy attorney ensures that the process of egg donation goes as smoothly as possible.

Fees included in an egg donation program are typically used for:

  • The cost of reviewing the surrogate’s insurance coverage
  • The cost of screening a surrogate
  • The surrogate’s fees

When an Egg is Not Available From the Intended Parents

While many agencies prefer to use the intended parents’ genetic material for surrogacy, sometimes that is not possible. In the case of a single parent or a homosexual couple, a piece of genetic material is missing. Egg donation allows a single parent or homosexual couple to start a family.

Steps For Receiving an Egg from an Egg Donor

There are many steps you must go through in order to receive an egg from an egg donor. The experienced Minneapolis egg donation attorneys can help you through the administrative and legal processes of egg donor selection. Review a brief outline of the process and then we can answer any other questions you have about egg donation.

  • Review general information regarding our firm and our partner, the International Assisted Reproduction Center (IARC)
  • Review the ovum donor profiles and choose a donor. Each ovum donor undergoes psychosocial interview and/or assessment. You and the ovum donor (who may remain anonymous) also undergo additional medical testing
  • The egg donor goes through fertility treatments to ensure enough mature eggs are harvested
  • During embryo transfer, two or three embryos are usually transferred
  • Take a pregnancy test administered by your regular doctor 14 days after the embryo transfer

The fertility clinic stores frozen embryos. If the pregnancy test is negative, you can return for frozen embryo transfers until the embryos are used.
